This is a blended learning course which covers basic principles of safe and effective procedural sedation for the non-anaesthetist. A 3-hour pre-course on line module is completed prior to attending the course. The course is delivered as a series of interactive discussion and didactic lectures, followed by a series of short practical workshops. Topics covered include: Basic airway assessment, Drugs and agents used for sedation, Patient preparation and location, Documentation and post-procedure advice, as well as appropriate analgesia technique.
